Well, since this ancient thread has been dragged up from the dead…
Here are some inserts made out of wood, and some from recycled laundry detergent bottles (HDPE melted in the oven, using an old tin can as the form):
The same insert fits both my band saw and scroll saw. All you need is any material that you can get to proper diameter, then just slice off as many inserts as you need. I have a lathe, but there are plenty of other methods as shown above. Thickness adjustments can be done with a sander, or a router if you want a lip around the edge with the middle a bit thicker. With a blank just a few inches long, you can make a bunch of 'em for free.
