Okay, sorry to ask this question that seems to irritate so many (not sure why). Can someone give me an ID on this wood. It‘s possible that there is more than one type in the mix. I purchased about 1,000 bdft at an estate sale a few years ago for $250, so I didnt really care what it was. The wood was extremely dirty, sort of oily, and i have found a few nails in it, but otherwise no indiciation it had ever been used. It weathers to a grayish hue. The estate sale operator called it , “african walnut” but that seems to be a general term for anything dark that cant be identified.

The dark wood is very dense, very hard, machines glass smooth, and has a distinct odor sort of like a sweet cinnamon. Some of the dark wood is highly figured. The glossy pictures are in process of being finished for outdoor use.

Some of the lighter colored wood is yellow and is just as dense as the dark wood. Some of the other is sort of gray and much less dense.

The sample on the left in photo #4 looks alot like Framire, which does come from Africa.

Anzem is one wood that smells spicy like cinnamon when cut, but the stock I have has reddish tones that dont really match your samples.
