After making some cutting boards as Christmas gifts this year, I have been asked to start taking orders for my friends and other family members.

Luckily, I have a great lumber yard near me as well as some other woodworking stores within a reasonable distance. My question has to do with acclimating the wood before I make other boards.

I live in Ohio (I believe enough said about the different weather we have here), and my garage is not insulated. All of my work is done out there however I do bring my boards in the house to dry when clamped.

Do I need to let the wood sit in my garage before I start using it or can I use it right away? How long do you typically have to let it set?

Thanks - any information would be helpful!
