After doing some research, I have found that they make different versions of the Jointer Pal. There is one for setting HSS blade and the body of the Jointer Pal is made of steel. There is another version for setting carbide and HSS blades and the body of that jointer pal is made of brass.

Can anyone please tell me why you need a different jointer pal to set carbide blades???? The only reason why I can think there is a special jointer pal for carbide blades is to protect the carbide blades for nicked by the steel body jointer pal. I've been searching the internet and I can't find a reason for the different versions.

Thanks for very one's input!
