Awesome information on this site. My skills would not be nearly as developed if it weren't for it!! So I have made a few sets of coasters. Made from cherry, oak, and other hard woods. I cant figure out what the best thing to seal them with is? Something that is easy to wipe off and dose not leave a ring… Iv tried mineral oil but condensation from a cold glass will still leave a ring. Its easy to repair though, just reapply. What should I try next? Thanks Jon

I would use several coats of oil based poly. I have numerous rings from glasses on my end tables with water based poly, but my dining room table that I finished with about 6 coats of oil based poly I can leave a glass sweating on there all day and there is no ring.
