Looks like a milling machine used for metal work. I don't know much about them others on here know all about them. Like HokieKen

Yep, can go buy various names, vertical mill, vertical milling machine, or as we called it in my machine tool operator class, "the mill".
I've often thought about getting an X-Y table for my over arm pin router to get the same functionality, but with an actual router speed motor instead of mill (much lower RPM). Problem I always come back to, is an X-Y table with enough travel is… ouch lol

I sometimes see them on craiglsist for not "too" bad. There are some salvage places that buy inventory from shops that close and then basically part everything out almost like a car salvage place.
Yep, vertical mill.

BB Plywood bed, sliding on HDPE rails, T track, and or an assortment of other jig, and accessory fixtures.
I've looked up vertical mill, is this guy using a metalworking machine for woodworking? either way seems to work lol!

I use my Metal Lathe and my Bridgeport Mill more for woodworking more than metal.
I cut wood often on my mill as well. A tool is a tool ;-)
