I haven't burnt firewood for about 12 years, but I would make a round stacks. You can get an incredible amount of wood in a small space. Like you, I laid the wood on skids, and not the ground.

hairy I never seen any stacked like that, thanks for the info.
Karson I will not resaw any it goesin the furnace as is.
degoose maple is no. 1 for burning, no.2 birch, I have 99% maple and some birch.

I saw today a tractor trailer with a double trailers fully loaded with bird's maple logs I wonder how much that would be worth, I was told that one log 10' long is worth 0ver $1000, looks high to me??
