Island counter/bar top. It won't have continuous water near it (not by a sink) but it will hold its fair share of sweating glasses and hot coffee mugs.

The topmost coat is currently a polyurethane blend. Would introducing wax to the top during the rubbing out phase introduce issues with heat rings or water rings?
