Probably not what you want to hear, but here's my take.
I have a laser that I often use to cut templates... however, these templates could be scrolled or built up using thin straight pieces (and
"sculpted" ones for the curves).
Some of the kerfing templates I have made up in the past...
and yes, 1/16" router bits are the ideal sizes for T&J model kerfs. They templates are ideal for using a template follower attachment on a router/trimmer (trimmer recommended).
Used the above templates using a Makita trimmer on
my Hummer... unfortunately that project was posted before I got a tad more verbose in my presentations so it lacks the kerfing detail.
