Metamorphosis to come.

This past week I was able to get a good start on this wonderful challenge of creativity and woodworking skills. This has taken plenty of design, thought and time up to this point. I'm not very good at this design thing. The legs are walnut and the aprons and stretchers are made of butternut. All the joints are mortis and tenons. Take a good look at this now because in the next set of pictures there will be a metamorphosis in this table.

You people are just to much. LOL. I think you might be surprised at the next set of pictures. I'm waiting on something special to come and then I'll post the pictures. Keep guessing.

He's not going to butcher that wood with his crazy carvings is he?

Sorry, Rog, being one of your biggest fans, I just had to say that. ;-)

I just noticed that the "front" apron is recessed deeper than the other ones… You're not going to carve that up, you're going to add something!

Good try scottb but not quite. It does have something to do with the legs though. Keep in mind this is to be a unique table. When you see what I do it might be a let down, I hope not.

Maybe you've got a couple beavers coming over and you're going to let them "customize" it for you!

Good going, a nice blend of wood. I can't figure out how your going to get a Butterfly to pop out of it though.

Nice table and I like the cross in the back ground, too.

Karson, as you can see in the background I am also working on my 2007 carving as I am working on this table. Things are a little bit cluttered right now.

Well, I'm in the final stages of this challenge finally. As you can see this table did make a major change. I chose to make the legs appear to twist which helps give this table more of the Asian look. All joints are mortis and tenon, tongue and groove or a spine. The light color wood is the butternut with the darker being walnut. The last stage of metamorphosis is yet to come. Enjoy!

Very good Rog. I like it.

As Dennis would say those long pieces that are sticking out would disqualify it Sorry.

I agree with Dennis… those long sticky-outtie thingies disqualifies it… LOL

Which means if i enter this contest Imma have to do it with just enough time to keep Dennis from disqualifying mine

Although the legs add a nice "Twist"
