I just found one of these in my shop… got it from a friend… never paid much attention to it til now.

Preval looks like a COOL system...

How many use it (have used it)?

Do you like it?

What do you spray with it?

Have any problems thinning, etc.?

Some of the parts can be purchased at reduced prices. Search for Preval.

I would like to spray 1-2 lb cut shellacs… With a few containers (with lids), one could have shellac in one and Denatured Alcohol in another… then, cleaning would be painless… Spray the Shellac, change bottoms, Clean with the other, etc. Would that work? (Easily and effectively)?

BTW, I searched for Preval, found it… but, what I saw didn't satisfy my needs… So, I posted this…

I thank you all, in advance, for your comments.

Joe, the preval is excellent for its intended use, its basically a spray can type of thing, that you can put whatever you want into it, however it doesnt do heavy bodied products very well, like water bourne finishes , its more for thinner products like a shellac or thin lacquer or dye, we use them for touch up , or a small project from time to time, but for large projects the cost of the aerosol canisters and the small spray fan would not be what would be desired for larger projects, again it certainly has its place, but as a main source of a finishing system its not, look to the 5500, have 2 of them , use them in my finishing classes, it does well,,
