Good day to my woodworking brothers, I've been for sometime been working on a 12" Jointer/Planer knife sharpener. My first six-inch model sold out very quickly. I took them off the market while re-tooling my shop for a twelve-inch model. Yesterday Brian brought over a set of three 18" Woodmaster planer knives, the (indexing throw-away kind). They had some nicks and one was pretty badly bent. I put a twelve-inch and six-inch model together to sharpen them. Where the one knife was bent I put a small shim behind the bent area to straighten it for sharpening. I'm delighted to share with you that they sharpened up beautifully. I was really quite proud of my new invention. I'll be anxious to here from Brian as to how well they perform. I'm going to the International Woodworking Fair in Atlanta, Georgia August 25-28 www.iwfatlanta.com to exhibit my sharpeners and need dull indexing knives for demonstration. You can now see a live demo of my sharpener on you-tube at the following link:
. So if you have some please help me out by sending me all your dull knives. In return for your time and postage I will award one Twelve-inch "Deulen" Jointer/Planer knife Sharpener retail value $89.95 www.exoticwoodveneerplus.com to the randomly picked winner. The knives have to reach my house no later than August 20Th. I will post the winner on Lumberjocks. Thank you and good luck. Dan Deulen
