The Beauty of Wood Ashes

....study the volume of my wisdom,
and know for a certainty that i am of your texture,
texture's of ashes as written on snow,
page's of snow that bring forth the beauty of wood ashes….

As I ruminate upon the art of finishing….and wood projects, all set to be-come abstracts of 'wood art', I often pause to catch a glimpse of what it means to touch the 'soul of wood'....

....'soul of wood',
into the heart of the matter i descended,
as one who had come from the source of all good,
wherein this ruffled texture of abstract substance,
i now understood the who-the what-the when-the why,
how abstract black hooded monks of all my past dealings,
surrounded me with their pointing fingers of wind swept remembrances,
and in their moment of ghastly smirking haste,
i said the words that broke the bond,
--"tread not upon the heart of man,
from whom the long hard days of winter snows have come"--,
and know for a surety that in this opportunity of seeing snow,
i shall yet arise from these ashes and bring forth praise of wood….

Now lets look at what snow and wood ashes can bring forth when mixed with dirt and bulbous….Hippeastrum puniceum….Easter Lily….

....Amaryllis….

Thank you.

Frank

Hi Frank,

I look at the picture of the ash pile and see only a pile of ashes. You look at it and visualize the hidden beauty that is contained within them. That is the gift that comes from being an artist. The amaryllis is gorgeous and a promise of the change that is coming to the natural reality that is imposed upon us by winter.

thanks for the post.

Thanks again Frank, just another way of showing us that no matter how dark and depressing things seem, something good comes from it.
