My friend just got back from Kilimanjaro and he is trying to identify this wood which is prolific in the local Tanzania. Here are some pics:

Probably Monkeypod (Albizia Saman) - although not typically found in Tanzania. It has many local names, including Genizaro in Nicaragua.
