Can anyone help me out with how much 900 board feet of Tamarack would weigh? Also, am I correct in thinking it could be a good wood to be used for a deck? It's decay resistant, but is it strong enough?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

It looks to me as if Larch has a density of a little over 3 lbs/bf. So it will weigh in at just over 2700 lbs.

Here is a promo for it as a decking alternative to pressure treated.

Thanks for all your input. LumberJocks is one terrific site for competent, timely help.

Scott: Your information is very helpful. That's 3 half-ton pick-up loads. . . and thanks for the link to using Tamarack for decking.
Jeff: Cedar is probably actually a better choice but with an opportunity to buy 900 board feet for $400, I thought Tamarack could be a possible alternative. I just wasn't certain of how many trips we'd have to make to move it!
DaveR: I appreciate the link to the information. It will be helpful for future questions as well, so I've marked the site.
