Hey Gang

I've been buried with cabinet work since December no complaints just the facts. I've been so busy I've hardly had time to be on LJs or be in touch with lots of my great friends including Charles Neil. Yes I've still had time to tune into his weakly webisodes but maybe a day or two late. Just having touched base with Charles I find he's up to his normal routine ten to twenty things at a time : building several pieces of great furniture. teaching through his weekly webisodes, writing a book. Visiting woodworking supply places, Answering tons of questions on line and through e mails and inventing new tools and now products. He has come up with a new blotch control for all those blotchy woods that look terrible .I've been there you build this nice piece of furniture and then you go to finish it and blotching makes it look horrible . I could'nt believe it (is he really twins ) how can he do all that stuff plus be good at it too. He's got a video about it on you tube.
I hope I have more time to be on line and see all the great projects and see my friends here. But next up a 60 foot deck.
If your wondering I'm still going to start the Lowboy that Charles invited me to build. It should be no latter than next week end. I've bought a new camera and it just came so I hope I can make that work for the lowboy.

Ya Ya ,hey, send some of that busy this way. Glad somebodies getting a bit overworked.

Finished a dormer repair just in time to get called by my last three bids that they're going to wait a while. I tried to offer incentives but at least if they're to be believed they want me to do the work but just later this summer, this fall and the other come January.

At least promises are low in calories.

Jim, it is good that you are so busy!! With as many irons as you have in the fire it is a wonder that you ever get any sleep. :)

I hope that you are planning on blogging your lowboy construction. That would be a fun series to follow.

Hey Jim;

Look at it as pre aging the lowboy! Like wine or cheese.

Looking forward to seeing it get underway.

I came across 2 pcs of bookmatched, figured Mahogany about 10 years ago, 26" wide by 14 feet long, at a woodcraft store. They brought it in for someone, who never picked it up. They had it for a few years but couldn't sell it. When they lost their lease, they had to get rid of it. They had a sign on it First $300.00 takes it.

I said no thanks, and drove half way home… about 40 minutes…and then I changed my mind and went back for it, with the idea of building a high boy.

One of these days…

Lee

Jim-- I'm ordering a couple of quarts of Charles' Blotch control product … I have used the oil-based stuff, and it helps, but judging from his video, I think Charles has come up with something better. His price is the same as what they charge for inferior quality stuff at the the big box ($12.95).

I got Charles e-mail today and watched the video today on his new blotch control product and was quite amazed at the results. Definitely going to try some. Looking forward to the lowboy build as it has always been on my bucketlist along with pie curst tilt top table. Keep us posted

Jim, Busy is good-I've wondered where you have been lately. I look forward to seeing your progress on the project. I know it will turn out great. Of course that goes without saying, with you and Charles working together on it.

Now, go back to work!
