Is anyone using Skarpaz Blades. I just picked up their 10" Orion Series blade for a table saw. The guy I bought it from is long time in the business of selling blades and says it is a great general purpose blade. I had hoped to get a Tenryu blade, but I got this instead. Thoughts???

Mark - I actually made the blade purchase as a Christmas gift for my neighbor, Roger . I wanted to get a Tenryu Blade - those are GREAT blades, but they did not have any at thee time. The rep told me that the Skarpaz would make a great gift and provide a smooth cut. Roger has not yet put it on his saw… I might have to go over to his house and take it back!!

Rick - thanks for the web site info

Skarpaz makes mainly commercial blades, which are generally made to run for long periods of time without overheating, hold an edge for a long time, and withstand many resharpenings….big teeth and thick bodies are typical. The side clearance parameters that help them run cooler and hold an edge longer also prevent them from giving the highly polished edge that many of the top general purpose consumer blades give. It should still cut clean enough for a glue ready edge. Blades like the WWII, Super General, Freud Premier, and Ridge Carbide tend to be excellent in a setting where short cutting sessions are the norm, and the blade cools between cuts. Those same blades would get very hot in a commercial setting of continuous cutting for hours on end, and would lose edge in a hurry because of it.

I have a friend, a high end cabinet maker, who believes this brand is the best he has ever used. I am replacing my old dado blades and he insists these are the ones I should buy. I personally have no experience with them and can find no reviews on google. Does anyone else have an opinion?
