Discouraging Day

The weather has turned in my area of the US and my landlord has not prepped the property for the deluge we usually get. I spent an hour this afternoon figuring out an alternative water flow for runoff that was coming into our garage and threatening to flood us out.

But that wasn't the first of it. When I initially went into the garage it turned out that the power is busted too. I ended up running an extension from my apartment in order to power the garage door and all my tools. This is fine by me, considering I should be paying for the power usage anyway. Wrangling extension cords is not my idea of a fun time.

All kinds of little things transpired to make this a pretty miserable and grumpy experience in general… so, I'm giving up for the day.

And here are my sad sad little offerings for all that effort.

The shroom wood is reclaimed from a dead flowering tree in my backyard (don't know what it is). The bobbin looking thing is a Wraps Per Inch gauge. WPI gauges are used to size yarn thickness by people who hand spin their own yarns.

All unfinished because I am irritable and give up for the day.

We all have these kinds of days. Tomorrow will be better and the shrooms will be popping up all over the place!

Love your shrooms. Don't know if you are the spinner, but my wife is into quilting (including long arm), knitting, spinning, and weaving. Teaches knitting, but quilting is her thing right now. But then, she taught an employee of mine to spin and weave this year.

Did I say I love those shrooms. Being in Alaska, I have dealt with all kinds of travails, not as bad here in Anchorage, but lived in Fairbanks for 8 years. And I second patron, don't give up the ship, errrr… shop!!

I like these mushrooms much more than the last ones you did. The natural edge is always nice to see.
Hang in there, your work is getting better and better…...... and we all have days that just don't go our way…..

Keep them chips flying.

Nice shrooooms! Eventually they will mature into full grown ones.
Be careful with the extension cord…...wire size versus length of run versus tool amerage. Could cause problems!!

a wise person recognizes that "this is not a good day" and backs away from the equipment before things go awry.
