So over the past couple years I've been using Rubio Monocoat for just about everything. I'm curious how long it takes you to apply it to your pieces.

I built a 2' x 4' coffee table with a drawer and have been working through finishing it. So far I've worked my way around the base, the interior and exterior of the drawer and the underside of the table. Between applying, letting it sit for a minute, buffing (with a buffer) and wiping away the excess (by hand) I spent a little over two hours and I still have more to go.

I feel like it shouldn't take this long, but I'm not sure. It's supposed to be an easy one coat finish but I guess easy doesn't necessarily mean quick. I'm also not applying it to a single flat surface like a floor. I'm having to apply it to smaller parts like the legs which are standing vertically and inside cabinet carcases so I'm sure that makes the application not as straight forward.

So if you use Rubio, how long would you say you spend applying it and buffing it out?

You piece must be extremely complicated if it's taking that long. Rubio has been very fast for me I had my wife help me on a large table top once.
Lately my work has been small so I've been mixing small batches.
I've heard it said a great finish can take as long as it takes to build a piece.
One more thing I'd like to share is never finish inside a drawer or cabinet. One exception is shellac to block a unpleasant smell.
Good Luck

Here's a picture of the table and the base when I had them in clamps, there's a lot of surfaces that need finished. But again, not sure if I'm going slow or not.

I'm not sure I've ever heard not finishing the inside of cabinets or drawers. Is there a reason for that? I always thought you should finish all sides of solid wood so that it can absorb moisture in a similar way.

Rubio takes 24hrs to dry. Which means you can move it for at least 2-4 hrs.

Oil finishes are a timely process. Rubio sells fools gold in the "one coat Stupidity"
