I am looking for input on which cutlist/layout program is good to get. I am looking for something rather cheep and if there is an adequate one out there for free that someone could recommend that would be even better.

I have the cutlist plugin for sketchup but since I dont design every project I make in sketchup it is only good for certin things, I was looking at Cutlist Plus and it looks like a good program, thanks for the info.

Its really good, someone did a fairly in depth review on it here a while ago, it does take a while to set up (making raw material lists and plugging in sizes/priices) but thats pretty much a one time thing. Nice feature is it can also be used to track your personal inventory, and will use off cuts that you have in stock when possible. Also you can alter the cutting layouts in a single click, to simplify cuts, or say maximise rip cuts vs crosscuts, etc.

I was hesitant about the price tag but after playing with the trial (and the fact that i am absolutely horrific when it comes to making my own cutting layouts!) I was sold on it (I tried about a dozen various freeware cutlist/layout programs and nothing came close to Cutlist)
