First glue ups...

McLeanVA posted a challenge to some of us "Pros" to make his designs…
Here is the first part..Milling and gluing up…. I won't go into all the details … they are here.

Wow, those are certainly some monster glue-ups- but then again I am only a rookie member of the club and not a "seasoned pro". :)

Thanks for posting this, Larry. I have a better understanding on how to create the patterns after seeing these. I don't think that I am quite ready for something as ambitious as these- yet. But it does look like you are having fun.

The master at work! I'm reading the instructions from McleanVA with great trepidation. Hope to try one soon.
Have you tried the frontline interlocking clamps?

One and Two.

Just a couple of pics of #1 and #2 and as you can see I downloaded the plans and have included them in the pics.

#1.. Standard ZIG ZAG.

#2 Thick & Thin ZIG ZAG

Please note these are works in progress and are at this stage only a dry fit.. but wet with Mineral Turpentine to colour up…do not comment on gaps or misalignments until they are posted as finished projects..

You make me so proud my friend. Gorgeous boards. I love seeing these patterns traveling around the globe, being built, and traveling around the globe again to inspire folks.

You have been busy, mate. Last one looks best again. How about less contrast in the lighter wood for an even more subtle effect?

That's very different from the other boards you made.

It looks good.
