Greetings Nate: Nearly everyone on LJs uses the Bessey bar clamps. I've been using them for years. For my $'s, there is none better. I still buy some when the need arises, but I've got plenty right now. Don't throw out your pipe clamps….. they may come in handy when you need them…... lol. Here's my collection…

Besseys ar ethe only clamps in my shop that have lasted any length of time the other parallel clamps I had something went wrong with the mechanism that holds them in place while tightening and it wasnt a confined incident all 3 of the ones I bought did the same thing in about a years time . I cant speak for the Jets but I never will stray away from the tried and true k-body

I have a mix of Bessey and Jet clamps … both are good, but the Jet does have a somewhat larger face/clamping surface.

You are not making a mistake with either, but for $30, I would go with the Bessey package.

I have the Jet clamps and I love them. With that said, I think you would be making a wise choice with either. They are the top two clamps on the market. A while back one of my local woodworking stores had that Jet kit on sale for $109.99 so I purchased 3 sets. The Jet kit also included bench dog pegs that can screw into the bottom of the blocks or into the clamp itself to make them easier to align and keep from sliding around.

Like everyone is saying, Jet and Bessey are the top two, so going with either set is a good move. Generally whichever is on sale is what's best for the moment. Also, seems that some people are saying the Jet has a larger clamping surface and better quick release. I also saw a comparison of parallel clamps (in Fine Woodworking maybe) that showed that the Jet clamps have the most clamping force of any of the clamps. Not that anyone needs to use the max clamping force of the clamp anyway, but just nice to know it's well built. Anyway, both are top notch. Good luck with your purchase.

Hi Nate. I too have the Bessey clamps and they have treated me well over the years. For future reference, if you find you do like the Besseys, they now make a "Revo" k-body clamp that is supposed to have a larger clamping surface. Woodcraft sells them. They are more expensive but you might want to check them out.

This isn't what you wanted to hear, but thanks for the heads-up. Woodcraft has free shipping on orders right now on orders over $75, so I grabbed a couple of those sets! :D
