Brought this home on Tuesday, got it uncrated & put the casters on. Can't wait to set it up & start using it!

Love it! Congrats!
I'm new to this forum. I have a 1640 also. Let me know if you have any trouble with it "cutting out" at very low speeds. Mine will just stop and I have to reboot. Thanks.
Good for you. Nothing like a new tool to perk up the day.

I would point out that depending on your height the casters may raise the lathe too high for proper tool use. Your forearm should be close to 90 degrees with your upper arm with the elbows near you sides. If you have to raise your elbows to use the lathe tools the lathe is too high. If keeping te casters is important make a platform to stand on.
This only came up for me after a friend had this problem and couldn't figure out why he had trouble controlling the cutting tools.
Brand is new to me. Odd, it has not come up in searches. Are you guys up north keeping the good stuff for yourselves? :) That is a beast. Really sweet. DVR drive?
Not direct drive. Oneway has been making lathes since the early '90s. Our healthcare is free. Our lathes are not ;-)
Where are you searching? One-way is a well known brand.
Right now I am waiting to attend a class or schooling before I use it, I will check out my elbow height and do accordingly.
Looking forward to turning, but in the meantime I have a ton of work that needs to be done in my shop.
