I had a similar noise and found that changing the blade eliminated it. What blade are you using?
New Grizzly 17" Bandsaw Making Strange noise
I recently purchased a grizzly 17" anniversary edition bandsaw (~3 months ago) and it just started making this noise from what appears to be the bottom wheel cabinet. So far I have put on new urethane tires and checked guide bearings to make sure they are not spinning freely. The noise only happens when I am sawing and not when its running with no resistance. My thoughts at first was the wheel tire was spinning on the wheel when there was resistance from the wood, but after replacing tire the only other thing would be the drive belt from motor.

Thrust bearing (the one behind the blade). Go to a bearing supply house for replacement bearings that are SEALED, NOT SHIELDED.

check your lower thrust bearing and blade guide adjustment. The blade is probably being forced past the thrust bearing.
Just put on a woodslicer .5" about 2 months ago. The grizzly one that came with it was horribleI had a similar noise and found that changing the blade eliminated it. What blade are you using?

That sure does sound like the blade thrust bearing doing some chirping.
A good saw will be able to run the blade with the blade guide hardware completely removed. I'd do that and see if the sound is still there.

when i took off the tire to be replaced i checked all bearings, and found that they were all good and spinning freely. I will check again when i get home.check your lower thrust bearing and blade guide adjustment. The blade is probably being forced past the thrust bearing.

Thanks, but with what i already had to deal with this saw I dont feel comfortable/safe putting a piece of wood through it with no guides. When I first got it the urethane tires wouldnt even stay on the saw. I would turn it on, and in like 10 seconds the tires and blade would come shooting off the wheelsThat sure does sound like the blade thrust bearing doing some chirping.

My Porter Cable does that on the lower guide bearing, and my Grizzly 17" will do it occasionally. That is when I need to clean the bearings and lube them a little. Then it goes away for quite a while.

So I went and video taped the bottom thrust bearing and it appears to be working fine. Heres the video:

Did you ever get a resolution on this? I am having the same noise when i use my 1" resew blade on the same saw.So I went and video taped the bottom thrust bearing and it appears to be working fine. Heres the video:

Britztopher, any resolution on this? I was out using my G0513P today and noticed the exact same noise. I pulled the lower wheel off (after loosening the belt) and the bearings inside the cast aluminum wheel are both good. It almost sounds like the noise is coming from the electrical motor…. I currently have the 3/8" blade installed.
That's the guide bearings chirping. They all will do that some. I learned to adjust my blade better, and I don't get it like I used to.Britztopher, any resolution on this? I agree sounds like the guide bearing needs some oil.
