Prepping the Front Legs to

I recently took a Maloof Rocker class with Randy Child and Charles Neil. They were both kind enough to let me video the learning sections of the class. In this video, Randy discusses the requirements for prepping the front legs to integrate with the seat.

I have lots of video but most of it has high levels of noise. If there is interest given these restraints, I will post a few more.

As for the class itself, I really learned quite a bit about shaping wood which is the largest requirement for building the actual rocker.

More to come!

Hi Tim:
Yes, it would be nice to share more videos of the Chair build. I feel I know you from all the pictures & video that is on Charles Neil Web site. I will see him about July 12. It looked like you learn a lot about chair building in a short period. I bet you have looked at your videos many times already. (You will see my picture in the sugar chest class)

Using A Rasp

In this video Randy Child discusses the use of the rasp in shaping wood and demonstrates its use.

My apologies in advance for the noise. I filmed this in a production environment of which I had no control. That said, you can still hear the content which I believe is relevant.

Enjoy!

Looking forward to more of this. I am intimidated by this type of work - curves and such. Most of my stuff is square

Mixing the Urea Resin Glue

In this clip Randy Child shows us how he mixes Urea Resin Glue to get the correct consistency. This step is in preparation for gluing up the rockers.
