Good idea. The mirror frame is a series of thin strips glued together and clamped together.
FWIW, our mirrors are glued to the wall (!) so the wife cut one inch strips of trim from Lowe's and made a frame glued over the edges of the mirror.She even cut the mitre corners on the chop saw and fit them...perfectly.

There’s a lot of DIY out there. i wanted to salvage a mirror. you can find mirrors for practically nothing at yard sales, etc. Something from nothing…

No such thing as waste anymore, just imagination.
