after a long process of getting the mighty vertical mill broken down and lifted off the trailer it is now strapped securely in a strong!! made up sled to slide her slowly down with the john deere tractor. the mill was picked up from here with our large ford tractor and moved to the back of the house to our shop entrance.

the shop entrance. a 3/4" ply wood ramp that has been used for just about every heavy machine i have was placed on stairs to strengthen the stairs. also 4×4 post under every stair to the floor for a strong strong strong and i mean STRONG stairway for the beast. if you look close you can see the side of my sled and the mill already down in the shop.

with the nerve racking part of my expensive wood mill being slid down a 45 degree slope over, the fun part should start to begin. putting it all back together. :) with the machine all setup and operational it will open doors to our woodworking which i'm very appreciative for.

Patron,

your right.

it isn't easy taking such a grease monster in an environment of dust. The machine we be maintained and kept up just about weekly depending on use. Unfortunally I'm so fussy with my stuff that I just won't tolerate dust being caked on lubricated leadscrews or something. Also good DC will be hooked up to this monster. :)
