Maple, Red and White Oak, Walnut, Cherry,Butternut

Hi guys:

A friend of mine has retired from woodworking and is selling several thousand board feet of these types of woods, These are located in Northeast PA, about 45 minutes north of Scranton. If you need quality lumber at great prices, please check out me ebay pages Thanks Bob A in NJ

I'm not sure I understand how this works. Is the price set up so that you are bidding on the price per board foot? How will ebay know the total selling price of the auction unless you have the total board feet?

I think for clarity, ease of reaching a total price before pickup, and buyer/seller protection, it might be best to use the bid price to represent the price of the entire lot (even if it is just an estimate) instead of the price per board foot. Just my opinion though.

Hokie

Hi, yes, that's another way to offer this auction. My thinking was the buyer might want less than the total amount offered and might want to sort through the pile. The final price would have to be determined on site and therefore that's why we wanted cash and offered the lumber at a "per board foot" price. If it doesnlt sell this way, I think I'll try your option next week. Thanks.

i gotcha. i wish i was heading up to my parents in north jersey sometime soon. I'd love to stop by for some butternut, but unfortunately, I can' justify a trip to buy lumber right now (plus i doubt I'd be able to take the volume necessary to make it worth your time). good luck. it sounds like someone is going to get a good deal.
