Brent, thanks for sharing the link. I have been looking for them for a while.

birdguy, you can hit up any of the smaller lumberyards in the area. They will tell you where the best sources for exotic woods are. However, Warrens is, by far, one of the best for stock material.

There's one of these in Gaithersburg as well.

They have some great wood there. If you're just looking for simple project stuff, they have maple "shorts" (5 to 6 feet I think) for $2.99/bdft. (red oak $1.99, cherry $3.95, Mahogany $7.50)

Decent prices, I thought - considering the area's cost of living. The catch - 30 bdft minimum - but you can mix-and-match.
