Kensa Sheffield back saw

I have purchased a small 10 inch backsaw possibly a dovetail saw for six dollars
Sleeve Wood Waist Collar Wood stain

. It has a steel brace on top instead of brass. On the brace it says kensa Sheffield and has 481 with a circle around it. It seems to have twelve teeth per inch. I cannot find any information out on this saw and was wondering if anyone might know if it is a dovetail saw or not. It seems to work well in rip cutting. Thanks for any help

Try posting in the mega saw thread: http://lumberjocks.com/topics/27984

The experts there would know if anybody does.

Looks like it's missing the saw nuts. And if it's straight and sharp, no reason why you couldn't use it as a dovetail saw.

Yes it had rivets in the handle and they pretty much fell out

Find some saw nut and roll with it. Looks like a dovetail saw.

There’s a company in Sheffield UK selling those brass screws and spool nuts for the opposite side.

Just convert the LB (British Pounds) to US Dollars and your all set, use you visa, then wait for weeks for them to arrive.

Same topic, different company. See picture ‘Kannreuthep saw’ from Sheffield England as well.

The internet drew a blank on this company. Anyone have info on Kannreuthep saws from Sheffield England? It has three crowns stamped up by the handle.
