K5 plane

I have a K5 plane with a Stanley sw blade. I have read that this plane was made Stanley but was sold by various companies. Is this correct?

The K5's were made by Stanley the KK series were made by Ohio tools. The K5 is a Bedrock design

And as far as I know, the design was often relabel but the K and KK designated was only used by Keen kutter.
