There is a new series on PBS that focuses on the American craftsman and how they make a living with their hands titled "A Craftsman's Legacy.".

I'm using FireFox, the video works, just doesn't expand. I'll watch again on big screen later w/dinner. LOL! Your recent videos are great new explorations!

I did stop over and send a message to Eric.

HGTV use to do a series like this and PBS did an annual like this. Guess I'm not available in prime time anymore as I'm working on a project. LOL! Or my other work.

I know it may not be in a large part of the market yet as it is just hitting the PBS stations for the first season.

It is one of the shows that I think the woodworking community would enjoy. Something I really connected with was the when the craftsmen shared their views and philosophy, which is the motivation behind what they do. They had the same thoughts as I do.

I think that the woodworkers would connect with them and find that even craftsmen that work in a different medium have the same thought process and motivations as well. That is basically the world I live in as I have surrounded myself by a lot of artists and craftsmen. There is a thought process and mindset that is like mine, even though we work in different mediums. Even if another person is considered a woodworker, we work in different styles but we travel a parallel path.

These are the reasons that I surround myself with other artists and craftsmen, and this is literally a peak into my world. In the tv series, by the craftsmen sharing their thoughts, it is a peak into their world, which is just like mine. That is why I connect with the show.

Maybe you LJ's can do an email request on your respective sites? And one for Eric so he knows he has LJ support?

Tod, most of the impressionists had each other to kick the bar up a notch. Ideas are the seeds of new ideas.

Keep on sharing here for folks who do not have the benifit of such a peer group. Like the box makers here on LJ's. It's been fun to watch and learn from and with them.

I'm going to see Thomas Hucker this November in Minn/St. Paul which should spark some buried notions in me. LOL!
