Installing a Quick Release Vise

After recently completing my first real workbench, it was time to install the most important accessory, the vises. I found the instructions to be rather confusing so i decided to make a video detailing the process. You can check out that process here:

Thanks for checking it out and there will be several more videos about the other accessories for the bench to come :)

Stellar job on installing the vice to the bench. I can see where the instructions would be a little confusing….But it turned out nicely, and you did a good on mounting it to your work bench…..!! When I mounted my 2 vices to my bench, I 'buried" the back plate into the bench….!!

Rick, thanks for checking it out, and yes, each one is a bit different depending on the vise and the bench you have. Hopefully it'll help at least one person and i will have accomplished my mission! I'm seriously thinking about replacing the 4/4 jaw with 8/4 in the near future, .... thoughts?

Well….I kind of go by the old addage: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". The jaw you mounted the vice to is a good size , but if you think you would like an 8/4 jaw, then go for it….You can make one, mount it to the vice, and see which one you like best….But in my opinion, what you have will work just fine…Plenty thick, plenty wide and long, and should have good holding power…..Just my thoughts..!!
