Gladys hit on Grizzman too. I saw she put the exact same thing in his profile. Just block her. It is spam. I don't know why people waste their time doing stuff like that. :/

I would look to your own computer rather than the LJ site.
Do you have an active spyware/malware program running?
How up to date is your antivirus?
If you have given out any of your email address's or installed any apps on your cell or tablet run by Apple or 'Droid or Windows, may give the app access to all of your information.
Those companies that own the app then sell your information to third parties, leaving you at risk.

Spammer. I got the same message. She/he/it posted the same spam message on several threads until they were able to send PM's and then started spamming the members individually through the site's PM system. They were reported and the account is now deleted, so it doesn't show up in your LJ inbox.

My computer (iMac) is scanned constantly for all kinds of buggy things, so I don't think it's that. Since "Gladys", if there is a "Gladys," seems to be targeting LJ members, she has to be getting the addresses somewhere. Where might that be?

You can look at the whole header of any email by looking around and finding the right button.
Usually the complete header will show that the email wasn't even sent from where it said it was.

I deal with this for the clients that I host websites for all the time.

This is not to say that this one didn't actually didn't come from here, but the majority of the time the scurity on the sites are good enough to stop that unless there is a complete lack of protection.

Interestingly, I got a PM notification that read exactly as the above from dear Gladys but when I logged in to LJ, there was no PM. I just assumed that LJ's has seen it as spam and removed it.

P.S. She would not have had your email address. She would have private messaged you here which you likely have set to alert your email account when you have a message.
