You should post your sharpening process here ( Hone Your Skills forum ) and also feel free to pose any questions. How do you like the MKII? I was just complaining about my cheap honing jig the other night, I wasn't paying close enough attention and ground off way more steel on one side of a blade than the other and it took so long for me to fix it… Lately I've been going more free hand than anything, but am still debating getting an MKII.

@7Footer - I bought the MKII in the beginning. Used it for everything. It was too slow to sharpen my blades. Went to free hand. It works for chisels and bevel down iron. Unfortunately free hand does not work with bevel up blades. I tried it. It did not work well at all. It is due to the micro bevel I wanted on the bevel up blade.

If you have a bevel up blade then MKII will help out.

I use the MK II and like it, keeping a strop handy sure gets and keeps that razor edge.
