A hot deal is a significant discount (including shipping) on DIY or workshop related tools, machines, clothing, books, lumber, or general interest items. Use your discretion. If you think we would be interested, post it. Please include a link, if online, a description, and the price. The discount amount in % or $$ is appreciated but not required.

Examples:
  • eBay Buy It Now (BIN)
  • Amazon sales, Deal of the Day (DOTD)
  • Amazon Warehouse Deals (AWD)
  • Sales, Coupons, Coupon Codes
  • Lowes/HD closeouts
  • Craigslist finds
  • Black Friday

NOT hot deals:
20% off HF coupon, because they are available all the time.
Cheaply made tools.
eBay auctions, because we don't know the final price until the auction ends.
Your favorite or most useful tool.
Amazon "Just Launched" sellers with very low prices (scammer)
Amazon sellers that ask you to email first (scammer)

  • What is an Amazon Warehouse Deal? It is an item with damaged packaging or the item itself may be damaged. It could have been dropped off a truck, punched with a fork truck, opened for a photograph, or a customer return. They are sold as used and the manufacturer warranty may be void. Most of the AWD I've bought were only damaged packaging but you are taking a risk. Note: just because they are sold as "used" does not mean they are actually used. Some customers scam Amazon by returning junk instead of the real product and Amazon may ship that wrong item to you.

  • Amazon '2 Left' Deals Occasionally there will be a super low price on a new item that says "Only 2 left in stock". Buy one and the last one jumps back to full price or you can buy both at the reduced price. For example you might see a $50 widget for $8, 2 Left. If you buy one, the last one jumps back to $50, or you can buy both for $8 each ($16 total).

  • Once in a great while there will be "1 left" and Amazon decides they want it gone and it will drop in price until someone buys it.

Yay I get to post on the first page of the new Hot Deals thread! ...just had to throw that out there

The eBay app just gave me a list of a bunch of reconditioned tools from DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita, Ridgid, etc. For example the DW735R planer from CPO outlet is listed for $439. I've seen it lower in the past but not without a 15 to 20% coupon code. And the recon doesn't come with extension tables. Hot deal or not?
Acme tools BOGO on the Jet Parallel clamp is live. Get yours while you can. ......
- Rayne
Just FYI, I placed an order for a single 12" clamp on Thursday night after the sale went live. The cart never showed the second clamp being added, so I left a note in the shipping instructions when I checked out. I received an email yesterday stating that my extra clamp will be shipped in a separate order. Just in case the same thing happened to anyone else, let Acme know, and they seem to be helpful and will make good on the BOGO sale.
LOL. Note that the Amazon DW735x listing confirms that it is NOT bluetooth or WiFi compatible.

Seems funny now, but I'm sure hammers will have WiFi/Bluetooth/Alexa/whatever in a matter of years!

"Alexa, don't smash my thumb this time!"
Sorry…couldn't resist
:D
Says it shipped. We will see what shows up.

You should be good to go! I hope it's everything you hoped for. I snagged a PAIR of jet 82 inch parallel clamps the other day for barely over $100! Hard to believe but they showed up in perfect condition…it must've cost half that to ship them! Price currently at $331 for the pair. So sometimes you're just in the right place at the right time :)
+1 on the jets. I've tried almost all the others and the jets are nicer in almost every way. Bigger comfy handle, bigger clamping area, non slip sliding jaw that won't smash your hands if you hold the clamp the wrong way, but bigger price unless you find a good sale :)
Someone purely stole that 22-44 sander! Kinda like I stole a jet 6" longbed jointer for the cost of a mobile base ;)
This is supposed to be for bargains, woodpeckers is not a bargain in any sense of the word.

- RobS888
That's really funny but too true :) I keep seeing their products that I might like but can't make myself pull the trigger
$39.40 Powermatic 1791217 Riser Block for 1791216K Bandsaw
Amazon renewed. Regular new price $127.50
This will not last long 37" wide belt sander for $500?

- CaptainKlutz
Hope they throw in those crankshafts or no deal!

Bora Portamate PM-2500 mobile base $66.12 like new on Amazon Warehouse
Only like $14 off regular price which is an excellent deal anyway. But I can vouch for this model of base as being excellent quality
I have 2 Bora mobile bases and they are very nice
eBay buy-it-now Porter Cable 875087 router speed control for the 7518 router. $74.99 shipped. 9 available as of this post. Seller says they were removed
from new routers and may need soldering of new wire leads to the board. I like to keep a couple of these around the shop because the 7518 speed control tends to have a shorter than ideal lifespan in my experience. Normally these are around $135, which is still much less than a new router but maybe this would be a worthwhile deal for someone like me willing to do their own soldering work.
Amazon has Evapo-Rust gallon for $15.36. I just ordered 2.

- Ocelot
Thanks for the heads-up. I already have two gallons kicking around in the shop, but what's the harm in getting more for a price like that! It's a life saver when buying old rusty clamps from garage sales.
Shop Fox W1685 1.5HP 110V dust collector Amazon Warehouse (like new condition, 3 available as of this post) $380.83 (regular price $425). Plus additional 20% off at checkout until 4/22/21.
Price out the door (before sales tax) $304.66

The savings off new takes a big bite out of the cost of a $225 Wynn Merv15 canister filter….
Might be worth getting this cheap DC and upgrading the filter.
CPO Outlets has the Jet JWDP-12 1/2HP variable speed laser benchtop drill press for just under $400 and free shipping. Regular price everywhere else is S629. I just paid $421 with MI sales tax. That's over $200 discount!! 37% off before tax if my maths are correct.
Man that's not too shabby of a deal for a 2hp DC. I have the shop fox 2hp wired for 220v and it has a Wynn Merv 15 canister filter, dust deputy xl, and 6" ductwork. Should pull the cat off the floor at 30 feet away (untested theory) and keep the lungs healthy too. Even with harbor fright there shouldn't be too much to worry about with a simple motor and impeller.
I ordered a bunch of Robertson drive screws from Rob Cosman. I'm in Michigan and cheapest shipping for a $60 order was about $22
