They break pretty easily. I switched over to Diablo belts and they have been great.

There's plenty of other good things at HF to spend the gift card on.

Do you need clamps? These are all very good for the price. I use them all quite a bit:

Do not get the cheaper black/grey quick grip clamps. Those will snap way too easily.

You could also get the anti-fatigue mats to stand on in front of a workbench/table saw.

They are crap, at least the few I bought were. Worse, even good quality belts don't keep forever, the glue holding the belts tends to fail…so even with good belts I only buy ones I'll be using relatively soon (at least within a year or two).

Clamps you never have to many clamps I'm just waiting on the ones I want to go on sale. The big lots by my house closed and I got mats there a 5 pack of interlocking 2'x2' for a dollar loaded up on them. I have had no luck with the diablo I just threw away ten of them. Thanks for the reply guys I will be going elsewhere for a couple of belts.

Got one ON the sander right now, and one on the 1" x 30" sander as well. The 3" x 21" I bought has a thump when the joint goes by, other than that, no real problems. Also, I buy the RED belts, rather than those black ones. had better luck with the red belts.

BTW: have yet to have one come apart…......

Not sure which ones you bought, topamax, but mine have been awesome. The little ones suck, but the large red/black ones are extremely good.

Like John, I'm using their 6×48's and they work just fine for my occassional use.. I'm also using their self adhesive 10" sanding discs. Never had one separate except for once when I had a bit of a mishap and ripped a chunk out of the belt. A five pack on sale combined with a 25% off coupon gets them cheaper than a single belt at one of the big box stores. They may wear out faster (although I have not noticed, and using a belt cleaner will prolong their life greatly), IMHO it still works out cheaper in the long run.

Cheers,
Brad

I just got a few to try one day. I learned fast ;-) That scared me off the good ones. I might try them if I need some more bigger ones.

Yeah I bought some of the gray ones broke them all and had a bad time returning them. So I called the corporate and district manager so one sent me four new ones and the other the gift card. The store also let me exchange them for the screw bar clamps. They are a lot better.

They were fairly small black and orange.

Yeah, you have to get the exact ones I linked to. They are red and black and only come in 24" and 36" sizes. All the other ones are garbage. They aren't worth the plastic they are made out of.
