Helical cutter head for Jet JJ6

I have a Jet JJ-6 that I believe was made in 1982. While it's still a very functional machine, I'm like many others: blade change and adjusting is a frustrating process.

I'm looking for first hand experience regarding upgrading the machine to a helical head, such as pros and cons, quality of cut vs. straight blades, and so forth.
