I'll second this Jim. My mom just went back to Winnipeg a few hours ago after visiting the kids, Jenn and I here; a rare treat for all of us.

Just think, if it wasn't for our Mothers, we wouldn't be here.

Thanks! I had a good day being a grandma to a fourteen-year old. He had a project due for his Roman History class in seventh grade. He was told to "make a broad sword and a spear," so he called grandma. In three hours he had used a hand saw, a scroll saw (not very successfully) a draw knife (quite well) a rasp, sanding blocks, glue and clamps. He even figured out how to use French curves for the scroll on the sword handle cross piece. I used the table saw to rip, but he pushed the miter guage past the blade 1/2" high to make a half-lap to join the two pieces. I didn't get him home until 10pm on a school night, but he was pleased with his projects. We broke the spear tip twice and had to do it over, but he learned it isn't all easy. Felt good to be a grandma tonight. It was a fun day! Thanks for the well wishes, from several of you here at LJs!
