I was using my #5 Stanley and the rear handle was loose, I gave it a quarter turn and it was tight for a few swipes and loosened up again. Now the threads jump and it can not hold the handle in place at all.

Is there a common solution to this? I was thinking of getting a local welder to braze it into place but that seemed a little to extreme.
