Here is a manual on calibrating for particle board but it did have a fornula for use on page 7

So you would test the wood you have then oven dry it and then use the formula to calculate the original MC. Then check it with you test.
I have a Lignomat DX/C meter and the MFG states that it does an internal calibration when being used. So I can't be of any help there.
What meter did you get.
