Welcome to the forum, A.
I just found a place near me with a wide assortment of rough hardwoods that operates out of a storage locker facility.
Have you looked through your local listings such as CraigsList, FaceBook MarketPlace, Etsy, etc ?
What woods are you looking for? Do you have a thickness planer or router sled? Table Saw ?

I was just referencing the "potential" of local venues (in any city around the country).
I'm in Central Florida. For some reason, the SnowBirds bring down trailers loaded with the Northern local hardwoods such as walnut, etc. that doesn't grow locally here and they sell at flea markets and online locally.
While I was searching my local FB for walnut last week and I found a guy that was closing his business and selling at reduced prices. I picked up 27bf of 6/4 KD walnut for $6.85 a bf S2S.
I just suggest keep looking. Not too many members here live in your area.
If you could share your postal zip code, maybe folks here would lend you a hand in your search.
You could be more specific as to what you are looking for and the quantity.

@A:Y:M , I don't know if the trip is worth it for you or they will have what you want but Rockler opened a store in Moorestown NJ last year. They have a decent but small selection of wood and will apparently order whatever you want.

Thanks. That’s about 2 hours away…I’d rather deal with Boards and Beams ********************ty attitudes. Lol. Thanks for letting me know though. Didn’t realize there was Rockler in this awful state.

There's 2 lumber yards near me. One is in White Plains NY. That one is ML Condon. The other is Rosenzweig in the Bronx. Customer service isnt their best quality.
I can vouch for Rosenweig. Good product. They used to deliver free to my shop in Williamsburg - well to all the other woodheads that were in the building too. Free pencils too :)
