Kris - My little $100 HF mortiser came with an extra chuck so that the mortiser could be converted to a DP. I have a 13" DP so I haven't tried it, and have no idea how well it'll work. No reason to think that your Jet can be used as one too.
Bench top mortiser as a drill press?

I just purchased a Jet bench top mortiser. I was wondering if you could also use it as a regular drill press.
Would this cause harm to my new machine?
