Worked up a technique for making blind miters w/ hidden fingerjoints which can be cut on a CNC using a V endmill (which is smaller in diameter than the stock thickness) and one or more suitable square endmills:
which can have holes drilled for hinges:
and which has the lid relieved using roundover endmills of suitable diameters to match up w/ the radius of the endmills used for cutting out parts, and to relieve the back underside of the lid to allow it to open:
