I am pretty certain all my tape measures have legs. They find the neatest hiding places!

That's why I have so many of them in various places all over the shop. When I built a cart for my DW 745 table saw, I included a clip for a tape which lives on it. Otherwise, "They're everywhere! they're everywhere!"

Nice work. I really like the liner you added. About the only things organized in my shop consistently are my measuring/layout tools, planes, and chisels. Everything else seems to just find new random homes.

I LOVE the black rubberized shelf liner from the Dollar Tree. NOTHING skids around on that stuff, and it's CHEAP.

I'm aiming to do something like this for drawer organization. So I'm inspired, thanks. Just sent out for a roll of shelf liner. Only in white.

Stating the obvious, perhaps, but items are much easier to see when laid out on a white background. The more contrast between the tool/item and the background, the easier it is to see. Especially as eyes age, the need for contrast goes up. To convince yourself, cut a piece of white paper for a few of those cubbies, and place over the black liner. You may decide to redo the drawer in white liner. Cheers!

Maybe, but over half of those tools are silver, so black is a pretty good contrast. I guess I could put a different color for the ones that are not. Something to think about if I do the other drawers.
