I went to HD today to pickup a new shopvac, suprise the most popular model is gone. Model # WD1250 12gl - 5hp. It has a higher CFM then the pro model. So I started looking thru the stacks to see if anymore were there. There on the top shelf is 3 pallets marked 4/11/2010 sale only. It even says its the the new wd1250. the salesman says they'll be way cheap and show up early, the store only gets 3 pallets. Keep your eyes open.

It will be like one of those stupid Xmas adds where the gal stands in front of the closed store saying "open..open…open". LJ's camping outside too….lol

I've purchased a few of those models on sale….they don't last very long but the price is right. If you use one of them consistently for dust control..and take great care of it…expect and average of 2 years (some longer - some shorter) of service before you see problems in suction, switch or broken parts (plastic). I now only have a shop vac for cleaning up (and for small hand tools like my ROS)...I use a real DC for my table tools (and you cant go wrong with the Harbor Freight 199.00 special) and so far I have gotten 4 years out of it with no hiccups.

Ya it was a toss up between the ridgid and the craftsman model after comparing CFM ratings , but the ridgid lifetime means I only buy one vac. For my garage setup with a dust deputy it should be ok, space is always an issue.

NOTE after some research I found the on sale model is 1278 and is not the same as a 1250 . It has a 1 7/8 intake not a 2 1/2. also limited attachments in the box. Should be 29.95
