On a positive note, we've crossed 300,000 comments yesterday... wow this is one great achievement. And it's even more amazing when put into perspective:

Yup that is 52 posts per LumberJock. This is a very high activity number; I just calculated this number for a few other woodworking forums and believe me this number is very hard to match! And yes they also have few members with the majority of posts and lots of members with zero or few posts.

Keep on posting, LumberJocks are the best ;)

And one more thing. Many of you have asked about the story behind LumberJocks as well as about the people behind LumberJocks. Well this is the first time I decided to publish my LJ Story online. Read the LJ story here and get to know LJ team members here.

Enjoy ;)

P.S. We're just finishing our first professional Advertising Kit 2009 and I'm working hard on adding the watchlist feature as well as revamped LumberJocks locations and LJ search feature. So stay tuned as always.

Hi Martin;

It seems that half of my posts are to congratulate you on your amazing achievement!

You are doing us all a big service in providing us this forum, (no pun intended) to learn woodworking from others. And after all, that is the best way to learn.

A secondary benefit is the feedback we receive from fellow members, both with, hopefully constructive advice, and with praise coming from those who understand the efforts required, for the results achieved. This praise is often the push we need to try bigger and / or better projects.

I have always believed woodworking results boil down to the efforts of the maker. Not experience or training.

And there simply is no better proof of this, than the lumberjocks!

Lee

This is an awesome site. Where else could you go and see up to date master craftsman custom work? I know I work harder to improve my amateur work knowing I have to present it to the masters. I appreciate the community you have developed.

Please forgive me if I've seem to have fallen off the Earth, things have gotten little weird. I've not been arrested, reguardless of anything you might have seen or heard. Been doing odd jobs just to make ends meet but I do have a few projects I can add. As soon as I get pictures, I'll act like I want to show them off.

Congrats Martin on the best woodworking forum on the net.

Thanks for this wonderful site Martin.

It's also nice to read about how this all started.

What a great group of people!

We've enjoyed seeing, & reading other woodworkers accomplishments.

This has been a great place to display the things I've made over the years.

I never realized how many things I've made, until I started posting them here.

And I still haven't found the bottom of the barrel yet.

Its been very rewarding to me to read the nice comments from the members.

The nice comments I receive from the Jocks, is worth more than all of the money in the world.

This site has also helped me with my writing abilities.

Thanks to you, before I got on this site, I had a very hard time putting any words together.
