Part 1: The base (part 1)
Here is an update on my new shop. below is a picture of the base, which is concrete blocks on gravel which is on lanscaping fabic to stop the weeds. The base is 20’ x 12’ whith each of the blocks supporting a 24” on center beams. I will add more pictures as I do the work Thanks for looking and any suggestions are much appreciated Callum

Part 5: Base (part 5) and start of walls
Hey all you LJs thought I would give a quick update on the progress of my new workshop. Although I am not as far as I would like to be, I think I am making steady progress. Hope to have another update somtime this week, as always feel free to leave a comment Thanks for looking Callum
Part 6: The finshed shop (Hopefuly)
Here is a Sketch up drawing of what my finshed shop will look like, I hav put in my assembly table and also hav designed a router table, table saw with stand, workbench and an end bench with wall mounted cabinets. On the far wall I will keep tools such a band saw (when I get one) and anything else big :) Any suggestions feel free Thanks Callum
Part 7: Base (part 6) and the walls start to go up!
Today was a very productive day, as my workshop has realy taken shape. I had my friend James helping me today, which is a real bonus when lifting sheets of ply into place. We started off by fixing the plywood to the joists, using counter-sunk outdoor screws. Then we trimmed the overhang with a plunge router, with a 1” guide bit. Part 8: Walls (part 3) and the roof begins
Today was another productive day, as my friend was able to help again. We put up the rest of the wall sections and also made the front peice, allowing for a 6’ double door opening. Then we secured the walls to the base and to each other, using screws. We then moved onto the matter which is the roof, we started off by creating two turnkeys out of some scrap. Part 9: A big update!
As I have not done a blog in a while, even though I have been working hard lol. Here is a blog to get you LJs up to date on the progress of the new shop. To be honest there is to much progress to write in detail however I will give you a brief, first I put the noggins in. Part 10: A quick update
I thought it would be a good idea to let you know whats going on, I have not been able to work on the workshop as much as I would like, but progress is being made. I will do a full blog when it is completed. Callum
