Cutting maple stringing - 3 replies

I have an order for a box and the lid while require some inlay done in maple. Its a simple but it calls for a perfect circle. My strategy to cut the recess is to make a circular template for my laminate trimmer to ride in but Im not sure how to prepare stock as small and thin as the string to go in it. Any tips from the pros on cutting it?
