Location: Ford River, Michigan

I learned woodworking from Mr. Andy Gauthier at L'Anse High School. He was a great teacher. That was 32 years ago. After a few years of building a family and getting settled, I started working with an old Shopsmith. I soon bought a used, newer unit, with all the bells & whistles. I quickly found that the tablesaw was the limiting part of the unit.
Later, I made an entertainment center and traded it for a Craftsman table saw. Since then I've set up a complete shop.
Looking forward to retirement in about 6 years. Seems work keeps getting in the way of "Shop Time".

It is amazing how I found this site. I was studying for a promotion interview in the morning, then I clicked on the TV and saw the end of Titanic. I saw the deck chairs falling off the ship as it went down. I have made about 30 Adirondack chairs and thought I’d search for “Titanic Deck Chairs”. One of the hits brought me to this site.

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a little over a year ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
